the Family Group Ekomuro H2o +, I wish to express a cordial greeting from my country Colombia.
In the company of my work group we had the wonderful experience as Finalists Winners of the World Water Challenge program in the past 7th World Water Forum in Korea 2015, our modest project "Ekomuro H2o + rain harvest with pet bottles",http://ekomuroh2o.wixsite.com/ecoh2o, based onEnvironmental Education and Appropriate Technology,has allowed us to generate a culture of saving water to thousands of students and educational communities of our country and different countries of the region, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Brazil, Chile. Its international diffusion in more than 30 websites in English, Russian, Ukrainian, Italian and Spanish, specializing in environmental issues, CCTV in China, and newspapers like miami herald, have made it possible to sensitize thousands of people around the world. The world on the importance of taking advantage of rainwater in a simple, practical, economical and sustainable way. The project has another component of reuse of PET bottles and Circular Economy, which allowed the special invitation to participate in the Forum Plasticity in Anaheim California in the month of May, event sponsored by the World Plastics Council. It has been a great experience to integrate the objectives of the World Water and Plastics Councils into a common goal of protecting natural resources and sustainable development.
With the same purpose and due to our participation in Korea International Water Week 2016, we propose a new project for the reuse of the gray water of the shower, it is a system called Ekoducha H2O +,,http://ekomuroh2o.wixsite.com/ecoh2o/ekoshower-h2oit has the same purposes ofenvironmental educationand Generate culture of water saving. The Ekomuro and Ekoducha systems are integrated to generate 40% water savings in a home and are consistent with the 6th objective of sustainable development and the UN campaign "to waste water" on the occasion of the last World Water Day 2017.
International judges highlighted the project as an "exceptional sustainable solution to water problems in the world".
In our modest opinion and based on our experience with the Ekomuro project, we can conclude that the appropriate technology, the circular economy and the internet are constituted in necessary elements to sensitize the population in the culture of water saving. We must offer them alternatives in saving water, advertising campaigns in the media are valid, but we have to teach them to build their own systems to save water, have a greater impact on the family economy and participate in the goals of sustainable development.

I believe that thanks to ICT our projects have had the opportunity to be appreciated by the international and national organizations that are working on this exciting issue of water problems, ICT are a key element to disseminate and facilitate the exchange and knowledge of new technologies And advances that seek to generate well-being for communities in sanitation and drinking water. An example of this is that in the past days we received an email from the director of the company Ecosystem environmental, based in Spain, requesting technical information related to the seal systems we designed for the pet bottles in their bases, information that we sent including an image Of this technical detail. This company, together with 16 other European organizations, works on the WATERSPOUTT project (Water Sustainable Point-of-Use Treatment Technologies) http://www.ciemat.es/cargarAplicacionNoticias.do;jsessionid=7D0FA9A7F0088F3BB4FC93C4A4E41DA4?idArea=-1&identificador=1205 , it is about developing solar technologies to increase the use of SODIS through research innovations to bring to the market new solar technologies for water purification of rainwater and Solar canister among others. These technologies will be developed in collaboration with Uganda, South Africa, Ethiopia and Malawi under the European Horizon 2020 program. The SODIS technique is used by about 5 million people to make water available in Africa. ICT enabled Douglas Woodring Founder of the Ocean Recovery Alliance ,http://www.oceanrecov.org/ , based in Hong Kong, to contact us about our project and share it at Forum Plasticty in California, more than 8,000 tons of Plastics went to the oceans in 2016, and the actions we are undertaking contribute in some way to reducing this contamination. Douglas works in the protection of the oceans and through an application http://globalalert.org , all people in Anywhere in the world can identify the pollution of their oceans. ICTs are definitely essential for water sustainability and waste reduction.

Hello Diana, I'm very happy to greet you again. Thank you for your comments on our modest work. Casually, I remembered our last meeting at the International Water Week in Korea, KIWW 2016. Last week we registered our participation in KIWW 2017 with a project called "Ekoducha H2O+ Reuse of gray water and circular economy, which will complement the Rainwater collecting systems in dry seasons.
The ekomuro project for water collection is the result of a constant concern on environmental issues that, in the company of my work group, we wanted to complement with our professional activities in architecture and sustainable housing. The project is as complement to the work I'm developting on solar energy to heat water, based on appropriate technology and circular economy. It is about taking advantage of the natural resources on winter and summer. What we want to do is to teach people that they do have total access to these technologies in an eco-efficient, practical, sustainable and environmentally friendly way. Ekomuros were designed with a social-environmental approach, tending to give a solution of the need to recover rainwater, using a verical tank that occupies minimal space in urban housing. And also responds to the urgent need of reusing plastic wastes that are polluting our oceans.
The project has had a process of acceptance by the community, highlighting the importance in pedagogical processes related to environmental education in schools, socio-environmental responsibility in companies and organizations that have supported the projectand especially in peri-urban communities they are the ones who really feel the need to solve the water and observed in the project a successful solution.
It is these communities that give us an example of sustainability, when from their homes there is a true culture of water saving and it was they who drove our new initiative to recover gray water. In the majority of families the members are forced to recover the water from the personal toilet in the shower, they use a plastic container wide enough, 60 cm and deep of approximately 20 cm of height and they shower inside to recover the water Gray for washing the toilets. The Ekoducha project aims to improve this condition, recovering gray water in a practical and eco-efficient way. Conscious that the states and governmental entities have to guarantee safe water to the population. We wish that each individual, when making his own ekoducha with recovered materials, feels committed to providing sustainable solutions to the present and future problems of water.
The Ekoducha project will be a complement to the systems of recovery of rainwater in dry periods, it aims to begin to raise awareness in the population about the importance of recovering gray water, as a global trend to solve the problems of water supply. Water in the context of the principles of circular economy, applied to the recovery and reuse of waste water and the appropriate disposal of plastic waste and that the global water and plastic councils respectively have as purpose to achieve the development objectives Sustainable 2030.
The ekoduchas are made with recovered pet bottles of three liters. Four lines of Bottles connected to two 4 "and 1" end supports in pvc, allow to recover 40 Liters of gray water. It is made up of a support structure in pvc pipe and overlay in recovered Polypropylene equivalent to recovering 1500 covers of this material, a waterproof tarpaulin attached to an aluminum frame, a drainage grille, plastic micro and macromembrane filters in one of the lines Of bottles and a mechanical pump in pvc or electric minibomba of extraction of gray water complete the system. Is an exemplar of the circular economy that includes new principles of mandatory inclusion of water saving devices in urban housing and residential and commercial buildings, its implementation will significantly contribute to more families to access safe water in periurban communities in condition of vulnerability.
In relation to our participation in the 8th forum in Brazil, of course we would like to participate and have the opportunity to share our experience as winners of WWCH program in Korea and also share our new projects to recover and reuse wastewater. To tell them that in recent days and in recognition of my country as winners of the National Ecology Blue Planet 2017, the ambassador of the Republic of India, told us about his interest in the Ekomuro project, would be the most important achievement of the project if we succeed in replicating it in this country.
