On April 26 and 27, at Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center, Brasília, will be held the 8th World Water Forum’s 2nd Stakeholders Consultation Meeting. The preparatory meeting will promote debates on the central and cross-cuting themes to be discussed in the Forum, with a view to define the event’s preliminary content.
More than 700 participants are expected to attend the 2nd Stakeholders Consultation Meeting, both Brazilian and foreigners, as representatives of several sectors, such as: governments, enterprises, financial institutions, universities and NGOs. During the event, participants will be able to evaluate the preparation of the Forum and discuss important issues from each Forum’s Processes.
The Meeting takes place about a year prior to the Forum, which is to occur on March 18 to 23, 2018, in Brasília. It is the continuation of the Kick-Off Meeting, an event that took place in June/2016 in the federal capital, in order to begin the preparations for the World Water Forum.
As a follow-up to the Kick-Off Meeting, the 2nd Stakeholder Consultation Meeting will allow the coordinators of the commissions involved in the Forum’s organization—Thematic Process, Political Process, Regional Process, Citizen’s Forum Process and Sustainability Focus Group—to evaluate the evolution of the contents produced since 2016. Participants will also be able to give their opinion on the themes for thematic sessions.
